Having to much pride in sports

There are so many athletes in today sports that have so much pride in themselves they become hubris. I have ran across many athletes in my playing and coaching career and I would like to tell you about one athlete that sticks in my head. This was a great kid who had amazing football talent, he did not try hard in the classroom because he felt he was to good on the field so he didn't have to do anything in the classroom. One day he missed a class and whenever an athlete misses class they have to run after practice. So that day at practice the athlete did not want to run so he decided to quit football because it felt it was unfair. This is a great example of athletes who have to much pride in themselves they become hubris.
